Microbial Contamination Prompted Recall
On December 11, 2017, Sanofi Genzyme issued a voluntary recall of a single lot (LOT 7RSL021) of Synvisc-One after it had been found with microbial contamination. The recall was initiated following an investigation after the company had noticed an increase in the number of adverse events reported. Sanofi Genzyme reports that of the lot of 18,000, about 12,380 doses were distributed.
